Partnership spotlight: Exclusive mask partnership with Dent-X Canada

When the pandemic began, the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) recognized that when we work together as a community to protect and support the most vulnerable Canadians, we can find creative solutions to help those who need us. That’s why we are pleased to partner with Dent-X Canada – a partnership that will help to protect the health and wellbeing of Canadians through the sale of FN-95 and 3-Ply masks.

As CCS’s exclusive mask partner, Dent-X will donate $3 million to CCS over the next three years and provide masks (in-kind) to CCS for our lodges, transportation programs and select fundraising events. The face masks produced by Dent-X Canada are for personal protection, with high-efficiency filters that meet standards approved by Health Canada.

When COVID-19 hit, Dent-X re-tooled their factory, which also produces dental equipment, to enable them to manufacture personal protective equipment (PPE). Now, they are able to produce a maximum of 2.2 million masks per day out of their Vaughan, ON location.

Dent-X then opted to duplicate their facilities on the Wiikwemkoong and Sagamok First Nations Reserves. The organization has an agreement with First Nations Procurement Inc., a PPE manufacturer and wholesaler, which gives First Nations community members the opportunity to work with Dent-X, allowing them to receive training at the facility in Vaughan, and then work in the facilities on the reserves. This has created a number of jobs in the region.
